To get you in the mood, we would like to showcase a painting that was recently sent to us. The painting below was painted by Bill Feldman of New York. July 19, 2010: Join us at Tarrywile as we welcome Danbury native and author Deborah Van Houten Burggraaf back to the area to read her childrens book "Cooka: The Bird Without Wings". The reading will be held on Monday July 26th at 11 am in the Mansion Library with light refreshments to follow. Signed books will also be available for $10 each.
Mrs. Burggraaf, a South Florida teacher with over fifteen years experience, has teamed with an illustrator to introduce a children's book that will fascinate children as they journey with Cooka as she ventures outside of her cage and explores her South Florida surrondings. Written for children, ages 5 to 12, Cooka is realistically illustrated by Shaun Howard, an outstanding world-class illustrator based in Atlanta, Georgia. The illustrations are superb and children will feel as if they are part of Cooka's journey of exploration. Mrs. Burggraaf has also created age-specific learning activities to go with the book and they are available at www.dburgg.com
Please join us!!
