Wedding Season in Full Swing

2021 Is the Year of Weddings

The 2021 wedding season is in full swing at Tarrywile Mansion. Our first official wedding of the year was held last Sunday under a cloudy sky with rain in the forecast. The couple quickly pivoted from an outdoor ceremony under the grape arbor to inside in our beautiful glass conservatory. The wedding arch, where Shelley and Shaun exchanged vows, was made by Flower Designs by Malu. It was an exquisite mixture of white birch branches with hot and soft pink roses for a beautiful pop of color.

The color scheme the bride chose was all white with a few silver accents. The only pop of color came from the vibrant elevated floral designs that graced each table.

First Tent Wedding of the Season

Ariana and Tom were our first tent wedding after the disaster that was 2020. They chose a Friday night wedding, so I was able to catch a bit of it before leaving the office for the day. The tent provided by All Season Tent Rentals was our way of giving couples the opportunity to have an outdoor wedding if they did not yet feel comfortable with indoor gatherings.

As they were setting up for the ceremony, I thought for a moment that they had the chairs facing in the wrong direction.

Instead of having the ceremony by the beautiful shade tree, they had it by the greenhouse. I was told by one of the mom’s directing the set-up that yes, that is what the bride wanted, they planned to drape some lovely white curtains from the silver support bars of the grape arbor to cover-up the green house. There were flowing white drapes placed in a few strategic places, with a table facing the ceremony for a live Zoom telecast of the ceremony for the friends and family that couldn’t make it or weren’t comfortable with large gatherings yet.

I am really curious how the Zoom broadcast went since we are thinking of that for my daughter’s wedding in October. I am looking forward to seeing the photo’s of the ceremony as well as the tent wedding from their photographer.

It was a warm, muggy day, with the threat of rain, but in the end it looked like everyone had a great time.

Peonies and Promises

Hoahan & Rosmarie held a beautiful wedding ceremony at St. Peter’s Church in Danbury, CT. Due to COVID-19 restrictions on travel, many of their family and friends from overseas could not attend, but this didn’t stop them from celebrating their wedding day with all those living in the United States. The State of Connecticut’s occupancy restrictions had just been lifted the month before so Hoahan & Rosmarie were able to have their reception inside the mansion as they had hoped.

I’m looking forward to seeing the photos from their wedding day. I had a sneak peek at the floral arrangements as they were putting them together. Absolutely fabulous!
