Family Night at Tarrywile Park

EVENT CANCELLED TO DO EXPECTED THUNDERSTORMS

Join us as we hold the first ever Family Night at Tarrywile as we celebrate the Planting Moon.  Held from 6pm - 9pm at the Red Barn Environmental Center, located off of the lower parkinglot at 70 Southern Blvd., Danbury, CT.

Several activities will be offered including a guided family hike, stargazing, programs by the campfire and a marshmallow roast.  Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, telescopes or binoculars.  Come early and bring a picnic dinner to enjoy before the program starts.  We hope to offer this program several times during the year.  The program is free, but donations would be greatly appreciated to help defray the costs.  All Children under the age of 18 must be accompained by an adult.  Please call 203-744-3130 to register for the event.

The Hike for Healthy Families

Tarrywile Park is proud to partner with Stand Together Make a Difference for another Hike for Healthy Families.  Please join us for a beautiful spring morning hike as we promote family values and community involvment for the families of Danbury through healthy outdoor activites.  Put on your hiking shoes, bring the kids and join the rest of the community as we hike through one of the most popular trails at Tarrywile Park.  After the hike, join us for refreshments in the Red Barn Environmental Center where a free prize raffle will also be held.  Hiking trail maps of the Park can be found at http://tarrywile.com/files/Tarrywile_trail-map.pdf    For further information on the event, please contact Jeff Preston at 203-731-4693.

Bird Watching Hike

Join The Land Trust of Danbury Volunteers as they lead a bird watching hike starting at 8:00 am and lasting for apx. 2 hours.  The group will be meeting in the lower Mansion parking lot and the hike will start from there.  Please bring binoculars, bird identification books, water and please wear rugged footwear.  Heavy Rain will postpone the event, with time and date to follow.  So come and enjoy an early morning walk with our fine feather friends.  If interested in attending, please contact the hike leader Barbara Starr at barbara.starr@snet.net
