Mary came into the mansion looking to host a simple, laid back wedding heavy on the passed hor’s Douevres with a couple of food stations. This was a second marriage for her so she wasn’t looking for all the bells and whistles that new brides generally want. When Mary came for the venue tour she commented that she hadn’t even looked at wedding dresses yet. She signed the contract in June and the plans came together swiftly for their September 14th wedding.
The weather forecast for that day showed 70 degrees, cloudy, with a chance of rain so there was a possibility the outdoor wedding ceremony would have to be moved to out covered veranda. Luckily, the rain held off, the ceremony went forward under the grape arbor and Michael and Mary were officially married.
The “roasting” of the bride and groom took place in the grand foyer using the sweeping staircase as a makeshift stage. It was a great location for everyone gathered around to see and hear the stories told by their respective daughters. From the expressions on the newlyweds faces I can imagine the stories were a bit embarrassing to be shared in front of all their guests. Hey, what are kids for if not to embarrass their parents, as long as they remember what goes around comes around on their wedding day.
The wedding reception made use off all the rooms inside the Mansion as well as the veranda. Cocktail hour was held on the veranda with a scattering of hi top tables, with one table of 6 for anyone who wanted to dine outside. The bar was located on the veranda as well, easily accessible from inside and out. The remainder of the guest seating was located in the library and living room with high tops scattered in the formal drawing room. The dining room was set up for the buffet with plenty of room so there wasn’t a long line waiting for food.
The photo booth was set up in the formal drawing room. The couple brought their own playlist and enjoyed dancing with their guests in the foyer. It looked like everyone truly enjoyed themselves. The caterer they chose for their wedding day was our approved caterer: Gallucci’s serving up great Italian fare as well as almost any dish you can think of.
