Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day weekend is generally the ideal time for a late summer/early fall wedding. This year with Hurricane Harvey moving our way, the weather wasn’t what my couples hoped for when they started planning more than a year ago.

Saturday turned out to be on the cooler side and a bit breezy, however from the photo’s of Kaitlyn and Austin’s wedding ceremony in the grape arbor, it didn’t effect the young couple at all. The bride and groom chose to have cocktail hour under a smaller size tent on the

conservatory lawn accompanied by various lawn games, followed by the reception in the Mansion complete with a photo booth, frozen margarita maker and various board games.

Vendors chosen for Saturday’s event were; Conto Lino’s pizza truck, Ben & Jerries food truck, Floral Designs by Nancy, Photography by Jennie Marie, B Entertained DJ’s and more for the photo booth and Durants Tent and Party Rentals for all rentals.

Sunday Wedding

Harvey decided to bring some rain for Rhonda and Jeffrey’s wedding on Sunday. It’s a good thing there was a good weather/bad weather plan in place since having the wedding ceremony in the grape arbor would not work. The back up plan was to have the ceremony inside in our glass conservatory with guest seated in the formal drawing room, then change it out for guest dining in the conservatory/formal drawing room. The extended head table was moved from the veranda to the living room with cocktail hour in the foyer.

It’s always nice to pick a venue that has the good weather/bad weather option because New England weather has a mind of it’s own and is anything but predictable.

Vendors chosen for Sunday’s event were; Clambakes of CT, Secret Fire Media (photography), and Durant’s Tent and Party Rentals.
