In this second installment of our new featured blog post; Vendor Spotlight, we will be focusing on a vendor who makes all things drool worthy, not to mention aesthetically beautiful. Monica Banas is owner and chief pastry chef at Monet Baking Company. Monica is also very generous with her time and talent when it comes time for our annual Harvest Dinner fundraiser. It is my personal opinion that there is always room for dessert, in fact for me it is my favorite part of the meal especially if the dessert comes from Monet Baking Company (bring on the cheesecake pops and apple galettes with caramel sauce!).

Meet Pastry Chef and Owner: Monica Banas:

Starting with a vision to create out of the ordinary and whimsical baked goods, Monet Baking Company was born in the Fall of 2011.

Monica graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in Speech Communications. She started her confectionery adventures after a long-standing passion let her to enroll at the Institute of Culinary Education.  After graduation, she interned at Gramercy Tavern under the direction of Pastry Chef Nancy Olsen. Moving Back to her native state, she went on to work at Cake Haven in Danbury, CT making custom cakes along with teaching classes to children at The Young Chefs Academy in Brookfield, CT. Since 2008, she has been the pastry chef at The Amber Room in Danbury, CT.

Using my years of experience, I work with my clients to envision the perfect creations for their special events. Whether it be for an intimate party of large event, Monet Baking Company can provide you with superior quality, high end pastry goods to remember.

Monica has been hired by my clients to create everything from a wedding cake masterpiece to a mixture of dessert confections to satisfy anyone’s sweet tooth (mine included). A great example is the three tiered cake shown above for Cat and Brandon’s December Wedding and also for the lovely Summer Wedding of Brenda & Andrew.

I am always confident when a client tells me they have hired Monet Baking Company for their wedding cake or dessert selection that they will be extremely satisfied. I can also testify to the integrity and professionalism they will receive from Monica as the business owner because I have come to personally know Monica over the past 5 years I have been at Tarrywile through our many conversations when she stops by the office to say hi and see how we are doing.
