Conservatory Ceremony

High School Sweethearts Wed

The planning process for the Hull/Fiore wedding started way before the actual wedding date. Her initial information inquiry came mid-summer 2013 and was followed up with a request to tour the Mansion. During the phone conversation I learned that Annie and Anthony were high school sweethearts and had graduated from nearby Newtown High School. Annie asked what I though about brides planning their wedding long distance, they were from the D.C. area. I reassured her that we have had many brides from various parts of the country choose Tarrywile Mansion for their wedding and had minimal difficulty getting it done especially if you use our preferred vendors, they already know the Mansion, what works best and where everything is located.

Long Distance Planning

Annie made the trip up from D.C. so she and her mom Margaret could do a whirlwind day of viewing venues. I am proud to say that we came up at the top of the list but before making the final decision Annie wanted Anthony’s input. After a bit of shuffling schedules due to an unexpected snow storm, Anthony viewed the property and put his stamp of approval. The bride and groom were looking for a venue that was centrally located to accommodate their Connecticut guests and guests who would be flying in from around the country. We were a perfect match since we are very close to the New York airports as well as the Metro North train stations. Their long distance wedding planning was underway.

As the month’s passed and the bride and groom were busy with their D.C. life (work, work, a little fun thrown in, work), Annie’s mom Margaret become my point of contract since she was local. Margaret handled the final planning expertly commissioning All Season Party Rentals to provide the tent and accompanying rentals, food and serving staff was to be provided by Loree’s Catering, and Margaret and friends were to provide the decorations. The plan was to have the ceremony under the grape arbor, cocktail and reception under the tent.

The decorations included white twinkle lights woven through the grape vines in the arbor as well as in and around the tent, gorgeous hanging baskets placed around the perimeter of the tent, white lanterns and flowers as centerpieces for the tables. Small lanterns and twinkle light were hung around the conservatory to add a magical feeling the the Mansion. I have to say I love the Scrabble pillows that were placed in the window seat, they were a nice touch.

The weekend weather forecast was mixed with Saturday being sunny and Sunday scheduled to rain, unfortunately as forecasts often go the rain came on Saturday which forced the ceremony to be moved inside the conservatory (one of the many benefits of having your wedding at Tarrywile Mansion, good weather/bad weather options). I have to compliment whoever organized the decorating party, the conservatory never looked so beautiful. The hanging baskets were brought inside, and the added lanterns and twinkle lights really made the conservatory glow. All of this was captured by the amazing wedding photographer Erica Keane of Keane Eye Photography who generously contributed these photographs for your viewing pleasure.

Annie & Anthony truly made Tarrywile Mansion light up with the love and happiness they brought with them on their wedding day. Many blessings and good wishes to the happy couple.
