A Vineyard Style Wedding

It was January when Sarah contacted me for information on renting Tarrywile Mansion for their wedding day in the coming October. We made arrangements for her and Ed to tour the venue before one of our approved caterer’s annual tastings was scheduled to begin. The couple had a chance to see the Mansion set up as it would be for an event with different styles of linens, tableware, glasses, and floral arrangements that could be rented from All Season Tent & Party Rentals.

A number of vendors were in attendance giving Sarah and Ed a chance to do their research on caterers, photographers, entertainment, floral design, and more. Not long after the tasting, Ed contacted me to place a one-week hold on their date: Saturday, October 5, 2019. They were both going to be away on business starting the following Tuesday so they made sure to come into the office on Monday to sign the contract and put down the required 50% of the rental fee.

Time Before the Ceremony

Sarah chose to have her hair and make-up done at home. She was then driven to Tarrywile by her father in a classic Chrysler Roadster, a beautiful, classy automobile for a stunning bride, better than Cinderella’s coach, in my humble opinion. They arrived with enough time before the ceremony for the bride’s formal photos with her mom in our Brides Suite.

Meanwhile, Ed was at the Mansion making sure all the little details were being taken care of before going up to the Grooms Suite with his brother, who also served as their Justice of the Peace.

Grape Arbor Wedding Ceremony

The grape arbor is our most popular location for wedding ceremonies with the grapevines creating a lovely shaded area for guests to be seated, complete with green or purple grapes depending upon the time of year. Our groom, Ed’s, reaction to the “first look” of his bride Sarah, is another one for the archives. A normally expressive guy, Ed’s look of wonder just adds another layer of romance to this wedding day.

Vineyard Themed Reception

The newlyweds look so happy as they conclude the ceremony portion of their day. The next stop is formal photos and then the celebration really begins. The decor for the reception included silk vines, purple grapes, wine glasses, and corks. On a romantic note; Ed kept the cork from the bottle of wine they drank on the day he proposed. He had it placed in a special glass box with a tag that stated: Our engagement, October 16, 2018, and the name of the wine. It was a sweet addition to a day chock full of special moments.

Ed and Sarah had about 55 guests attend their wedding ceremony and reception. The day proved to be a lovely sunny day so they arranged to have cocktail hour on our elegant covered veranda. The bar was conveniently located on the veranda right outside of the French doors for easy access for guests on the veranda as well as inside the mansion. Their sweetheart table was located in the library with immediate family seated with them in the library. Additional guests were seated in the living room and dining room.

With the D.J. situated in the conservatory and dancing in the formal drawing room, the buffet was set up along the walls in the foyer. A great location with plenty of room to ensure the buffet lines would not get backed up.
