Our bride, Sarah is a native of Danbury, and hikes Tarrywile Park with her fiance’ Casey, weekly. She grew up with the daughter of approved caterer Tom Devine. The bride, a history teacher and a history buff along with her then fiance’ loved the history of our property. Sarah also attended her Wooster School Prom at Tarrywile Mansion. She has been a long time park lover, so it was only natural that she would choose our venue to host her wedding day.
It wasn’t hard to guess who would caterer their wedding day. Who else would you trust with such an important day than your good friends father; Tom Divine of Ciao’ Two Steps Caterers. She couldn’t have been in better hands. The guest list topped about 140 so they went with an outdoor ceremony under the grape arbor, and a cocktail style reception instead of going the more expensive route by renting a tent. Once I saw the list of the vendors chosen for that day I knew they would have a beautiful day to remember.
The layout of the reception was really creative. Dave Parks of Spin Doctor Entertainment, placed a light up bar in the glass conservatory so that room literally glowed with color after the sun went down. He also brought in some white, modern couches and arranged them along the sides of the drawing room. This offered guests who needed a rest from dancing a place to sit while still being close to the action. Along with the couches there were light up cubes and high top tables scattered around in convenient locations. This gave the drawing room a swanky feel, which was the brides plan all along.

A few of the photo’s come with a disclaimer though: The photographs of the couple over in the hay fields on the park side of the property were only possible because they parked in the lower parking lot and walked to that location. They were not allowed to drive beyond the gates into the park due to the safety of our park users.
