The wedding and reception of Pat and Katherine from Virgina had been in the works since June of 2018. We were the first venue the young couple had looked at, accompanied by their parents, Paula and Michael. Mom was impressed but there were still three or four more venues the be seen. You can guess the outcome, they chose Tarrywile, one of the reasons was the expansive property that came with the Mansion rental.
The plan was to have the rehearsal dinner on Friday night with all the out of town guests in attendance. On Saturday they planned to hold the wedding ceremony outside in the grape arbor with a tent reception to follow, hosting 150 guests, on the conservatory lawn. Thus, the two day wedding celebration.
Renting the Mansion for two days offers you a discounted rate on Friday and Saturday as well as access to the Mansion on Friday during office hours to decorate, drop off the wedding attire and do some set up. It’s a win/win for everyone.
Paula, mother of the bride, wanted to create a historic theme incorporating items from the old Danbury Fair as well as items reflection the history of Tarrywile as a dairy farm. Each room had a different theme and truly captured the essence of the property.
The weather was beautiful the day of the wedding, and everyone had a wonderful time. The guests and family loved the property, Carla, mother of the groom, and host of the Rehearsal Dinner, truly enjoyed her experience with Tarrywile Mansion.
